Of course, this is all relative. What I mean is, what sells great in one area may not sell great in another area. Sometimes this can be a tricky part of furniture flipping--finding what sells the best.
Style
Style can influence a lot of people in your area to buy your furniture. If you are wanting profits and high sales, do some research into what is selling in your area. What colors are

trending? Is farmhouse style in? Or do people in your area prefer something more modern? Sometimes it can be helpful to see what other furniture refinishers in the area are selling and why. This can help you make a plan to sell what is selling best.
Type
Next, it's important to look at what type is selling best. Are buffets more popular in your area or are nightstands a fan favorite? For example, in my area long dressers are very popular. I love to do these types of pieces because they are so versatile and I can usually always find a buyer. On the other hand, coffee tables don't do as well in my area as maybe in others. It just depends on what your target audience is looking for. If you want profits, it can be helpful to gear your projects to the type of furniture that is the most popular.
An Important Note
While profits can be enticing and important, this should not limit you in your scope of projects. It is always important to experiment and to make sure that you are giving yourself the opportunity to try new types of furniture projects. Have fun! Do something new. Sometimes the market can surprise you. Oftentimes I find that the projects that I put my heart and soul into are the ones that end up selling the best. Allow yourself to not only embrace the selling market demands, but also the creative demands that you may be feeling when it comes to creating furniture.
